Representative Amanda Murphy attended Gulf High School and Florida State University earning a
Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She currently lives in New Port Richey with her husband Matt Murphy, an Air Force Veteran with 8 years of active service. Amanda has proudly served as a Florida State Representative since 2013. This past Session, she served on the Joint Legislative Auditing Subcommittee, the Children, Families and Seniors Subcommittee, the Local Government Affairs Subcommittee, the State Affairs Committee, and as the Ranking Member on the Healthcare Appropriations Subcommittee.
Amanda is involved in local organizations which include PACE Center for Girls and the Youth and Family Alternatives Rap House Shelter which helps struggling young people have a second chance to be successful in life. This past Session she fought to keep these programs funded because she has personally witnessed their tremendous impact in our community. She also is an active alumni of Leadership Pasco (Class of 2011), member of the New Port Richey Junior Service League, Community Service Council, Trinity Rotary Club and the Pasco Aging Network.
For the past 17 years, Amanda has worked as a Financial Advisor for Raymond James in Carrollwood while maintaining her home in West Pasco.
Amanda Murphy is on your side, not the side of the special interests who keep demanding a bigger slice of the pie. She will stand up against the special interests in Tallahassee, and fight for you: to invest in education, to lower property insurance rates, and eliminate the gimmicks power companies use to charge higher utility rates.
Making sure that all our children receive the education they need to compete in the new global economy has been and will continue to be one of Amanda Murphy’s top priorities as your State Representative. She believes it is her and her colleagues job as State leaders to provide a path to opportunity for our children. The way to do this is by adequately funding our schools so that teachers and students have all the resources they need to succeed. By improving our schools and our colleges, we’ll be improving our economy, making Florida the kind of state businesses can’t wait to move to.
From sink holes to hurricanes, we in western Pasco know that protecting our homes and our property from mother nature can be tough. As your state representative, I’ll fight to ensure you can afford the protection you and your family deserve.
Please vote to re-elect Amanda Murphy as State Representative District 36.
