2016 Election Results

We are sad to announce that the tidal wave of Trump voters cost all our local candidates their races, including well-respected incumbent Representative Amanda Murphy  Our thanks and best wishes to her, Barry Horvath, John Larkin, and Robert Tager for putting themselves out there.

Plenty of pundits have weighed in on the Presidential race results and we will not, other than to recognize the efforts of Hillary Clinton, her team, and ours.  We worked well together and appreciated the organizers and volunteers who pitched in to canvas, phone bank, drive voters to the polls and more.  Our deepest thanks to you all.

I believe it’s time for men and women of good conscience to stand up and oppose at every turn this megalomaniac and the Republican party that controls Congress and the state legislatures all over the country. If people have any doubts just look at the appointments to his cabinet and lower level administration positions. The price of gas has already gone up to $223.9 a gallon and he hasn’t even been sworn in yet. By this time next year it may very well be near $4.00 a gallon. The last thing I want to hear from Democrats going forward is that we are willing to work with the new administration. I want the Democratic party to stand up and say we will make this a one term president just like the Republicans did eight years ago. Democrats need people with back bone to stand up and lead. The people leading the party this last election were the wrong messengers with the wrong message. At least on the national level. We need dragon slayers not soothsayers.

Jim, We agree with you. The state party will be voting on a new chair in January and the DNC will be voting in February. At that time I would expect we will see the party take a new course. In the meantime come join us at a DEC meeting or a club meeting and let’s start to move things locally. Check the calendar for the dates and times. With the holidays the meetings are scarce until January. Hope to see you soon.
