Repeal with NO Replacement

Early Thursday morning while most of us were sleeping the Republican led Senate voted to gut the Affordable Care Act. Their actions did the following:

Protecting patients with pre-existing conditions -GONE
Protecting historic children’s health coverage gains (lowest uninsured rate for children in U.S. history)-GONE
Protecting Social Security -GONE
Protecting Medicare and Medicaid -GONE
Protecting health insurance access and affordability for individuals based on their occupation -GONE
Protecting the closure of Medicare’s Rx coverage gap (the doughnut hole) -GONE
Lower Rx drug prices -GONE
Allowing people to stay on their parents’ healthcare plan until age 26 -GONE
Protecting rural hospitals and health care providers -GONE

You may ask why repeal with no replacement lined up. The Republicans want to hold the American people’s health hostage to force Democrats to accept their idea of healthcare. With no healthcare, Americans will stay sick and some will die. To the Republicans it is a small price to pay.

Today the House will vote on the same bill. Call Congressman Gus Bilirakis and tell him to save Healthcare for the American people. Call him at 202-225-5755 and tell him that his actions have consequences.

This is what happens when you throw away your vote to protest the status quo. If your belief was that the ACA (Affordable Care Act) was the cause of your economic status or your lack of employment, which was mainly promulgated by republicans, you are gravely mistaken. All you had to do was look at the obstruction of the Republican led Congress the past eight years to find the cause of your misfortune. Now we have a Republican majority in Congress and a Republican president. Do you actually believe that you situation will get better with these plutocrat enablers and a plutocrat in charge.
When the reigns of power have been granted to those who are willing to subject the populace to more economic hardship by destroying the ACA which millions now depend on, facts and ethical conduct will be the first to die. If you are not appalled by what you are hearing about the repealing of the ACA by the incoming republican political power structure in Washington, you’ve been living under a rock. For those of us who are about to face these hardships handed down to us by the Trump voters of this country, have heart, the fight has just begun. I suggest men and women of good conscience stand up and resist these republican extremists at every turn.

    Elections do have consequences.

Yes, Mr. Poly you are correct. Elections do have consequences. First thing to do is to find out which people that are in office are up for re-election in 2018 and start to get candidates together for replacement. I guess you could call it Remove and Replace. Not unlike the Tea Party did and are still doing. So I guess the next question is Who in the State of Florida is up for election in 2018 from Dog Catcher to Governor?

If you go to the tab marked “Candidates” you will see all of the 2017 and 2018 local races. The state wide races are not listed.
